i can't download or open files anymore!? I NEED HELP.URGENT

For some reason i can't download anymore. it will not respond when i try to download or open a file
i am not sure why that is,but it gets very irritating,because i have to download also some files from school and even that i can't do.
Please someone help me !! This is very urgent.

After what phase do you get stuck? Does it show you download dialogue or does it just stop before that? Can you screenshot the last step you can get to?

afterwards when you can chosse to open or download or cancel the file. I choose download,but
afterwards it pops aways.So the file won't be downloaded. When i use mozilla firefox,this problem
wont occur,but with explorer it will. This problem won't occur when i try to open a torrent.
I guess it's with direct downloading

Sadly it sounds like a problem with IE directly, so I doubt we can help you. Might want to look into it on Google, might be spyware, some other program interrupting it, IE settings, virtually anything...

You should try remembering if you installed or updated something recently, is usually the best bet.

even if it works now, get hijack this, and learn how to use it, then stop using IE.
