After doing a search, and reading about 3 threads like this in the suggestion forum, I think telling people to click members or set their homepage to the member page or use the `forgot password' page are all workarounds.
I suggest that a `remember me' box be added to the MAIN page, where the login/pass box is.
Furthermore, if you ARE logged in, the main page should NOT display the login box, and have a logout (which I AM aware is on the members page).
This way your UI is the same accross all the pages, and makes sense.

Again, like the other 3 threads about this, this is a workaround. You are telling me to install said software to fix a problem in a perticular website's feature.Garylisk wrote:I use Firefox. It remembers my username and password, and automatically enters them into the boxes when I pull up the main page. All I ever have to do is click "Login"
Even with your work around, when I go to the main site, when I am logged in I get prompted to log in. Isnt this a bit strange?

Okay, so how about we advise you to install said software for all the other myriad advantages it offers?quadir wrote:Again, like the other 3 threads about this, this is a workaround. Yes, and it shouldn't be happening with any browser...quadir wrote:Even with your work around, when I go to the main site, when I am logged in I get prompted to log in. Isnt this a bit strange?

I didnt want to double-post only to get refered to this or the 2 other posts about this, where the users were just given hacks. IMHO that isnt `solving the issue', or even aknowledging the problem.Scintilla wrote:HOLY freaking NECROPOSTAGE, Batman!
I mean, I see the relevance, but still, the original poster's question was answered... a year and 9 months ago.

Login is screwed up. I can attest to this, having looked at the source code and having experienced similar odd issues myself.quadir wrote:I didnt want to double-post only to get refered to this or the 2 other posts about this, where the users were just given hacks. The problem is one of actually getting someone to find the bug and squash it, and everyone I know is currently too busy with other stuff to actually do that bug-squashing.
