New members section

Post by Sora no Honou 空の炎 » Wed Jan 06, 2010 1:11 am

Hey, I am fairly new to the community. Created an account a little while ago just to download an amv at the time, but have really only been active in the community for about a month. I think that it would be a good idea if there was a section on the main forum index for people to post, say they're new, why they joined the site, their experience with amvs, etc. It would also help newcomers have their faces out there so that people can have somewhat of a recognition of them; this would help when posting to try to get help, trying to organize mep's, and just with generally making friends on the site. What do you think?

In order:

Why must you make a formal introduction into the community? Why not just lurk and then jump in?
No one cares
Put your videos in the catalog and announce them, let them speak for themselves
Want recognition? See previous
there is already a help forum
there is already a mep organization forum

I've seen that on many forums, it is completely pointless. It might be a bit less pointless in smaller forum communities but it'd be as pointless as it can get here. Just lurk and participate in whatever you can, this way you'll meet and get to know people - we all started somewhere, somehow.

Most people don't really care about new people in any forum. It would probably just be a couple people who read through the board

Hmm... ehh, I guess that you're all right. Specifically that it helps more with smaller forums. Anyway, just a thought; thanks for feedback. I guess that this can be locked.

Hmm............Not sure what to say on this one. Simply you got to start somewhere sometimes posting will do it especially if you are only starting here. You get a response at least. You need to KNOW where to start sometimes. Can't if you don't know.
In attempting to make AMV's, I learned one important lesson. When ya screw up, you can always blame sleep deprivation or laugh madly out loud. It makes you feel better. Trust me it does. :P
