Idea: TORRENT's!

Very good idea

to

HELP this site work better (faster) is to make a torrent server.

Torrent's are being downloaded by many ppl's who upload part's to each other = much faster downloading and (i think that, but i'm not sure) the site will be (i'm not the best in english...) less abused with download's.

Site will (can) upload files as "Web Seed".

Of course this is only a suggestion and if i made some english writing mistakes then "I'm sry"

Other suggestion is (about torrent downloading) using µTorrent (for a lot of reasons like vista support, multilanguage, ability of getting own skin, a lot of options and much more...).

It's already been proposed plenty of times. IIRC, the download statistics show that the vast majority of videos aren't downloaded by enough people to make it worth it.

Also I've never heard anyone complain about download speeds from the .org, unless it's their connection's fault. In fact for me, it's about the fastest download speed I get, with one or two possible exceptions...

Torrents solve the problem of a lot of users wanting a few files. The Org has a relatively small number of users who want a lot of files. This is what HTTP was created to solve.

In other words, torrents don't cut it.

It's less an issue of it not fitting the prescribed paradigm (that would just be being anal if it did work without consequence) and more of a "keeping the trackers for 120,000 videos active will hurt the servers and most vids are so small that by the time you get them up to the average HTTP speed, they'll be done anyways" thing. The overhead would reduce total server bandwidth, thus slowing downloads in 99% of all cases.
