Direct? Local? huh?

please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere. I looked, but didn't find anything, so...

What is the differences between all the different dowloads? Does one kind load better than others? save better, clearer? do they link differntly? I'm a complete computer moron, so I'm a little lost!

Local is the link to the file that is uploaded to the site's server. Direct and Indirect links are the amvs hosted on external sites.
