UPLOADING:After dragging and dropping the video...Then WHAT?

Post by LOG1K690 » Sat Jul 08, 2006 1:17 am

I'm trying to upload my first video. I request the upload, get the user name and passwords, drag and drop the video from my HDD...Okay, its playing. finished playing...OK. Go back. Error, Video not uploaded yet? There is nothing to do after dragging and dropping the vieo from my computer. It plays. What do I do NEXT after dragging and dropping the video?

Could I just upload the video at PhotoBucket.com and paste the link somewere? Would that affect the "local Download" status?

PLEASE help, I've tried this over and over with out avail. T_T

are there any errors that you get when you try to upload the video?
If you aren't using Internet Explorer, you need a client side ftp program (click on the filezilla link in my sig)
macs have thier own ftp.

make sure that any firewalls you may have are turned to a low(filesharing) or off setting while uploading.

the upload video button should turn into a confirm upload button, this is the next step after uploading.

and no, you can't upload to photobucket, as I don't think they accept video formats (not like you could get a video within the size restriction anyway)

Dewa, I was using Mozilla Fire Fox, I'll try it with Internet Explorer.

Photo Bucket does accept AVI and WMV formats, but when I uploaded it, the graphic resolution was greatly minimized! From dimensions 640 x 480 to about 300 x 200. The movie looks like Crap!

I've read alot of the user here in Anime Music Videos complain about their AMV resolutions being dimished. How could I prevent this from happening? It KILLS the AMV. could I buy an FTP program that will not mess it up? or something else?

PS: "There is no such thing as a free lunch!", I hate to hear that to! ^_^

the ftp program does nothing to the file except transfer it from one place to another, so it shouldn't be resizing anything.

Filezilla (as seen in my sig) is free, and relatively simple to use (although I'm sure you could find plenty of nay-sayers)
...much like browsing your HD for a specific file.

since you already have a username/password you should be able to upload to kero.animemusicvideos.org (put this into the address bar in filezilla)...eliminating the need for any other hosting service.

...not quite sure what you mean by that last part (diminished resolutions).
but usually people decrease the resolution (ex. from 720x480 to 512x384) to make the file smaller
