Direct Downloads

Ok, I don't have a website to host indirect downloads...So how can I use the Direct download feature to avoid this hassle? Or will it help at all. If not, if someone would be so kind to give me a link to a free domain server where I could post them.

You can only use a direct link if you actually have the video hosted somewhere yourself. There are no free places to host your video. If you want cheap hosting, you might try looking back through the first couple pages of posts in the General AMV forum and see if maybe anyone is offering anything.

I have heard you can create an 'FTP Server' using a cable modem. I own a cable modem, and I was wondering if you know anything about that and what it does, how it works, how you set it up, etc..Please reply.

PS: I need to find a program that can convert a video file such as asf into something like .avi or .mpeg
