The site, or just me [faster transfer rates?]

Post by Rurounikeitaro » Sun Oct 02, 2005 3:47 pm

Is it the site or just me. I used to download AMV's at barely 200 kb per sec but for the past week or two it's been downloading at 300 something kbs. Does this have something to do with the Bandwidth thing or did Verizon DSL just upgrade itself?

It's Verizon. Verizon DSL is trying to compete with Opitimum Online, Road Runner, and other digital cable companies that offer online services. Cable is 3-4 times faster than DSL, more reliable than DSL, and less problematic than DSL, or problem free as opposed to DSL.

Huh? Verizon wasn't going this fast last month. So why exactly is it going this fast now?

Verizon must have recently upgraded the services. Other than that, who really knows?

I used to download at a general speed of 1kb/s in these last 5 years.

/sarcasm

Sorry about that, I only had to say it.

It really must have upgraded it services. Shits going insanely fast! "for DSL that is" It went from 190 kbps to 350 kbps. Soon, it'll catch up to my friends cable modem and go 850kbps! I'll be waiting Verizon! :)

Whoa! I hope you still don't! Right?

I used to download at 5kbps for a couple years but luckily got DSL in Febuary. Been happy as hell since then.

Cable modems can go up to or past 1.12MBps. I know mine has. If DSL starts to catch up, Cable will definitely widen the gap again by going further.

And then fiber optics will spread.
