GMVs on VCA

I wanted to say this for a long time. I see that this site is named as Anime Music Videos and I see that the amount of Music videos posted on this site is huge. Most of them are AMVs but GMVs are there. People don't really care what they looking at..a GMV or an AMV. So why are they so much distinguished.

I understand that you don't make an NFS-Underground GMV and want it to be fairly and evenly treated as an AMV. What I wanted to say actually was..

Why are GMVs not allowed int the VCA. They deserve to be at a better chance than AMVs so they should be given a chance or there can be a GMV VCA held on each year.

What do you guys have to say about this? I hope the admins and Phade might want to reply here. I'd be happy to get a response.

Who said video game music videos couldn't compete in the VCAs? That is, as long as they conform to this site's rules (must be predominantly anime-styled cutscenes from a video game of Japanese origin). If they don't fit those criteria, then they don't belong on this site in the first place.

There will be no "game music video" category, but anime-style game cut scene footage will be considered "anime" for the purposes of this contest. Therefore, those videos are eligable to participate in any of the approved categories.

The VCA's are part of the www.ANIMEmusicvideos.org site. Note the capitalised word, anime. For GMV's try machinima.org or machinima.com . Theirs a few others as well that suite for GMV's but not anime.

I don't see what you're arguing here. Videos made from cutscenes from these games ARE allowed. Videos featuring only gameplay scenes are not.

...I think the confusion is this: Just because they don't have their own separate category doesn't mean they're not allowed in the contest. They can still compete in other categories.
