Question [help downloading/clicking links opens a player]

Post by YoruKosetsu » Sat Jul 23, 2005 2:53 am

I'm having problems downloading AMVs now.....
Every AMV I click on goes into AOL Media player but my AOL media player sucks a it dosen't work right (never has).
I was just wondering if anyone knows what I can do about this....and how I can just download the AMVs to my computer. (I've done it before but it just won't do it now....and I can't figure it out!)

Right-click on the link and select "Save As" instead of just left-clicking.

Same thing happens when I download with AOL. That's why I use Internet Explorer instead.

Even if I found impossible to use with the org the "pause" tool, Firefox is the best browser I ever tried. In answer to megaman917, 'cause I know is OT my post :°

There should be an option in the browser somewhere that lets you decide what to do with certain file types. Look for avi, mpeg, or mpg and make sure they are not opened by default by another application (that media player). Once you do this you should be able to download them to disk.

I had this same thing happen to me before. Here is how to fix that problem where it doesn't do that.

Go to settings on AOL: then go to Multimedia settings and uncheck the box that says Use the AOL media player for supported file types.

Now it should let you dowload the videos =)
