Your forum life

Post by Infinity Squared » Thu Jun 23, 2005 4:06 am

Ok... I have to ask... is the org's forum your number 1 forum?

I know there are a lot of colourful characters here. We have quite a substantial art form from which to discuss with. There are certainly no shortage in members. But do all of that make this place the forum you frequent the most?

Do you come here only when there's a problem? Or when you are wanting to boast your latest premeire? Maybe you're here just to make querries and request on AMV Radio...

Or do you actually love the discussions of AMVs past, present and future? Is this where you do most of your anime/manga/music forum discussions?

Personally, the org's forum has been a place I've visited more and more often. I've visited the main website much more frequently in the past but the forum itself was something I really didn't much bother with because I was already involved with other forums. Still though my contributions to the other forums I frequent (one is anime academy and another is the convention forum I mod) are way way more than what I have put in these forums, and in truth, currently, this isn't the place I come to if I wanted to discuss the meaning of life (at least not yet :P ).

So where do you stand when it comes to the overall discussion power of the org's forum?

No. These forums have too many strict rules. I just wanna tell everyone to "fuck off, and stop making bad videos" but the moderators wont let me, cause there so dam bored they feel the need to close every thread that gets instresting.

Yes, this happens to be my forum of choice. I find it to (usually) have a fairly good variety of topics to discuss, as well as the fact that it's a good way to keep up on the best of the new videos.

Well, I like visting this forum, but there are other forums which I like more (maybe because I have to write in English here).
And I like smaller forums, with less members than this one, because you know most of the members when there aren't that many members.

In reality though, only a small percentage of any forum has 'regular' posters.

The trouble I've found here is that the numbers of fleeting posters is way more in ration compared to the regular/semi-regular posters because it's more of a place to ask for help a lot of the times. And when problems are solved, they are gone.

I feel the same way. It's why I'm permabanned form half of the forums I used to post on (bastard mods).

*looks at my postcount*

Yea, it's my number 1 forum alright.

I'm here for most of what goes on, although I'm usually not much interested in technical discussions or contest talk - except when either of these directly affect me. Otherwise, suppose I just got attached to the place.

My interest in the forums sort of swings back and forth, sort of like my interest in AMV's. Usually, when I'm heavily involved in AMVing, I post heavily on the forum; when I'm heavily involved in something else, I'll just check up on the forum occasionally.

Suppose it's just a decent on-topic outlet. I personally enjoyed it more when it was also a decent off-topic outlet, but I won't start a discussion on that.

[addendum]

I'm also involved on about 3-4 other forums, only one of which is somehow AMV-related (demonseal).

The only forum where I'm currently more involved than AMV, and could eventually become my #1 forum (though I somewhat doubt that) is the subsim.com Radio Room (where I've maintained over 16 posts a day for the last 3 months).
