Search suggestion
This thread got me thinking. Would it be possible to add a filesize range into the Super Search options? Or the other searches, I suppose. It'd be nice to be able to exclude really low filesize videos (<10 mb), because that would help filter out really bad quality (and, yes, short videos). And it'd be nice to exclude videos that no one using 56k would want to spend time on (>70 mb).
I suppose it's not really that useful, but it'd be cool to have. I could also waste my time by comparing filesizes of AMVs to different anime and such. >.>

I tested this out and was very confused at first but eventually figured it out. It seems it lowers the values a bit so min 90 will give you 88 MB files and 5-15 will give you 4.7-9.8 or so.
It's very nice that it orders by size and can be switched with the "decending" checkbox, it's a handy little feature, although one that I probably won't use all that often being on broadband.
(I still think the most useful search option would be an "only" checkbox net to the anime field to filter out multiple source videos.)

Hey,
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Death & Rebirth)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (End of Evangelion)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Hentai)
...none of which are exactly "Evangelion". However, there is an entry that is exactly "Evenglion" that is an alias of "Neon Genesis Evengalion". So what did you mean when you chose "Only Evengelion"? Did you mean to find videos with only "Neon Genesis Evangelion" in it or did you mean to find videos with only anime from the list matching "Evangelion" listed above?
To have it work right, there would have to be either multiple steps involved or the person would have to type an exact match for the anime they are looking for or something like that. Also, the video must then only have one anime listed in it. If the video happens to use anime that are in the same series, the problem then again goes back to what the person meant.
Decisions, decisions, decisions...

The problem there is finding the "only". Suppose someone types in "Evangelion" for the anime. What does that mean? In the list of anime, there are 4 official titles that include "Evangelion" in it:pen-pen2002 wrote:(I still think the most useful search option would be an "only" checkbox net to the anime field to filter out multiple source videos.)
