Anime and/or AMV Weekly discussions!

Yesterday, I went to a place where people discuss a certain book that they have all just read and for the life of my I forget what that type of meeting it called. ANyway, it gave me the idea if each week this site announced a certain day when there was to be a disscution a certain AMV or anime. Not something in the forms but like they would set up a chat room where people who have seen the vid can go vist and discuss it, what they thought if it was good or bad why or why not. The same sort of thing that people do when they get together to discuss a certain novel they have all read. It works for books why not AMVs and anime? It could all be voted on each week which AMV or anime people want to talk about. It sounds like a good idea anyway. So what do you think? Can it be done and are there other suggests you might add? Thanks!

lol, and chat rooms usually go way off topic. I have had better discussions in the forums than I ever have had in chat rooms. General chat generally doesn't go anywhere in a chat room in terms of staying on topic, so the idea to me doesn't seem good. And whoever moderates it would have to lock it quick. lol

I guess I don't go in chat rooms to much to see this, but then do you think there would be a way for this to work in a form?

If by form you mean forum, I see no reason why not. There's nothing preventing anyone from posting a thread in general AMV to discuss the points of certain videos.

There's no reason why people can't do this in General AMV. That is our forum for discussion of AMVs.... it's just that nobody does actually discuss videos there very often.

So, then could we try to have on that forum a poll of AMVs that people vote on which, and what ever winds then the day that is step up and the time people go there to discuss elements of the certain AMV they voted on. I sort of wanted to make it a little more orginized then someone just going in and starting something that might seem pointless to the mods.

I don't feel that we should try and constrict the discussion to one day (as it will more than likely last longer than that). As long as the topic is set up to actually discuss the video, and not just comments like, "It sucks." etc., then we won't consider it pointless.
