I want to know where some AMVers live in my area, but that's hard since a lot of people don't want to list where they live for privacy reasons(myself included). So my idea was to have some privacy technique like where theres a page that lists members addresses, just not there user name, and the only way to get the name of the member seen by another member is by request through the Admin. That way people could probably contact people from there areas, and also have more surety that they are actually being contacted by another member and not some imposter. This is just an Idea. Maybe there could be a better way of doing it... I dunno.. But I think there should be at least some effort to make it easier to contact fellow AMVers.

The possible reason for having it does not counter the numerous reasons why this could be a very very bad idea.

the search for members link allows you to search by location. if you want to know the member's address, you should contact the member rather than take an indirect route that leaves you anonymous to the member.

Well, I had trouble explaining the idea... :\ I'm just saying, people don't list it, I would guess mainly because of privacy reasons. I've already met a few AMVers through the search for members, and We've hung out and stuff. I'm just saying, do you think there is a better way to get people to list there location... :\ I just shot out some random idea, not caring if it was good or bad, I just at least wanted to throw one out. That's all :\

Maybe there should be a way to list where you live and not have it list in your profile so only members can see your location. Anyone can go to someones profile and find out where they live. So maybe there should be an option to have your location listed only through member search so outsiders can't find out where you live. Don't get me wrong, and don't make to a big deal out of this.. Leave any feedback.. maybe this idea sucks, but I at least wanted to throw it out there, and maybe hear better ideas, or just hearing the idea sucks! :)

I don't see why anyone would be afraid to list where they live at. Not like its some secret or anything. Anyone can just open up the phone book and find out where like 1 million people live

lol, I guess. I've just talked to people saying they don't want to list it because of privacy issues. lol, so that's why I thought up this idea in the firt place, shesh!

Anyways, It's just an idea for those scaredy cats to give out where they live. Maybe there afraid the IRAA will get them!

I guess since privacy increased for members email addresses, it's no big deal to list your location, but how are u suppose to contact someone who doesn't log onto the forums. If they don't check there pms, and have there email address hidden with this new privacy feature, how are you suppose to contact them. I guess they'll just have to put it in there profile description.. -_-

Even if their email address is hidden they may still get email notifications for their PMs if they have that option enabled.

but really... maybe they don't WANT you to contact them?
