"Be a Turtle" Not showing

Post by Donatello Ivey » Tue Feb 22, 2005 10:43 am

Hiya,

I wanted to ask about something troubleing me. I've made a music video called "Be a Turtle" using the Anime TMNT. It does have a working link, and I tried to get it work... though for some odd reason it's hidden... I can see all of my other music videos up on the site, but I'm not seeing "Be a Turtle" I tried to edit, and all I can do is change the name of the song, anime or correcting the Premiere Date. I can't even delete it since it's not showing up.

The link that I have for it is...

http://videos.undermanhattan.com/d_ivey/Man.mpg

Can someone help me get this fixed? This is the first music video that I really made (the two before it was testing how to put sound to video and edit it and will never be put up on any site *blah*) It is not the american TMNT stuff at all, you can tell by the animation that this is a japanese anime TMNT version.

Somehow I doubt that any animated version of TMNT is considered anime here, considering its American comic book origins.

No, there is a TMNT OAV, which was discussed in detail over at the anime section. You can even get it on fansubs now?
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Even though this was clearly animated in Japan, and only way it's released is Japanese with english subtitles? April's got big anime eyes... it's more than clear that this is an anime of the Turtles.

Isn't Anime a series animated by Japanese artist and released in Japan first. If it comes to America it's either dubbed or subtitled...? I never heard that Anime had to be created by Japanese people, just that the term for anime is that kind of animation.

Yes the fan sub is found on the DVD version of it, which is usually found on Ebay or at conventions. I have the fan sub, but I didn't have the subtitles for the video I made. I originally got it on video without Fan Sub back in 1996, so I've had this for a long time now.

OK the only "anime" Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the (non-canonical) 1996 OVA called Mutant Turtles: Choujin Densetsu-hen which we do have listed as anime in the database and videos to this are allowed on the site.

Neither the 1987 nor the 2003 animated tv series is anime - both are produced in the states - the former by Murakami-Wolf-Swenson Film Productions who did things like The California Rasins and the latter by Mirage Studios, based in MA.

Your video uses the 2003 series and is NOT anime and is not allowed on the website. Sorry.

OK that video you linked above DOES use the anime version. You should pick the correct database entry (look under M)

Your video StarTurtle, however, does NOT use the anime version.

Sorry did not realize that with the other two videos, till starting to read around this board more... though I'm not talking about those I'm talking about the "Be a Turtle Video" which uses the OAV TMNT. I posted the link in the first topic here. man.mpg is the OAV TMNT, not the 2003 TMNT. I swear that, if you want to check it just check that link.

BTW is there any website out there does allow stuff like the 2003 TMNT?

Yeah I did read that, though still curious if there's any areas where videos like "Star Turtles" could be posted. Did not realize that videos with just 2003/movie/old series could not be used. Since I did a search on TMNT before posting anything and saw other videos with just TMNT as the show listed. I really like my video and want to be able to let people still be able download it.... so if I can't use it here, where can I put it?

And should I just delete those from here, or do you guys handle that?
