Problems Logging In (Using IE and Netscape)

Post by Komadori » Sat Feb 19, 2005 10:41 pm

Okay, here goes:

1. The login is cookie based. This means that you should have cookies enabled on your browser for this site.
Cookies are enabled.

4. If you can log into the forum but not the site, start by running this logout procedure and try logging in again.
I clicked on the link, and it just took me back to the main page. Tried to log in...nothing.

5. If you can still log into the forum but not the site, clear your browser cookies/cache. If you see a listing for following, you have not correctly cleared your cookies:
_COOKIE["cookie_user_id"]
_COOKIE["cookie_session_id"]
I cleared all of my cookies

So I've done up to step 6 I think on both IE AND Netscape. No luck. I used Netscape yesterday and I've never used IE for this web site, so I don't think downloading Mozilla or Firefox will solve my problem. Please, is anyone else out there having problems with logging into the main site to download AMV's?

Update: I was actually able to log on, but when I selected an AMV to download (clicked on LOCAL), it gave me the log in error. I managed to get on in the first place by performing step #4, for some reason it actually worked the third time.

And...now I can't log in again. -_- None of the steps help, not even the one I used before. WTH is going on?

Honestly, I can't help much when it comes to Netscape. However, you should try IE if you don't want to download another browser (I'd recommend Opera, personally). IE doesn't fail me as long as cookies are enabled (like you've done), and you don't open the video page in a new window. Keep everything in one window, with cookies enabled, then login and try to download the video. It should work fine.

If not, I can't help. But I would still suggest Opera.

Firefox is superior to Opera by virtue of not bothing you with ads if you don't want to pay, among other things.

There's only one ad, and it's safely above the address bar and any important context. Unless you're severely neurotic, I don't see why it should bother you. :P Opera is superior by virtue of not looking like crap.

Any ad at all steals screen space.
