The Viewer's Choice Award: A Very Simple Suggestion

'Lo to everyone who makes this site so amazing and awesome!

Well, I was doing some nominating for the semi-finals on the Viewers Choice awards for this year. I particularly loved it because it enabled me to find some awesome videos that had slipped past me until now. Even with the Top Star Scales and Tops Percentage lists, there are so many great AMVs that miss grabbing my attention.

So I was looking at how many great videos I'd missed, downloaded a bunch and finding ones I liked better than the few I'd assumed I would be nominating. Unfortunatly, because I have a life away from my computer, I didn't get to cruise through all the great catagories in the semi-finals. I nominated in the catagories I am most fond of, but now that the semi-finals are over, the lists are gone!

Maybe I'm just missing an obvious link here. I realize that voting for the semi-final nominations is now closed, but do you have to make the list of the semi-final videos that were nominated vanish? I would love, (and this is my suggestion), to be able to open the list of semi-finals, finals, and whatever else for the year, just to see what the most popular videos WERE! Is it possible to simply post them as a list of names even without direct links to the page? That, at least, would let me track them down.

And as long as I'm at it, is there any way to post the list of semi-finals and whatnot videos for last year? And the year before? The videos that won the finals are great, but there were a lot of great vids in the semi's that seem hard to track down. Just having a list of the semi-finalists posted under the list of winners in the Viewers Choice awards section would really be nice.

Hope some other people agree with me.

You can also choose what year an amv premiered in, so do 2004 for amvs that qualify for this years vca's.

Yeah, I'm missing that list too. In the past VCAs, all the nominees were listed, but they weren't this year, and I don't know why.

Duly noted. The page isnt written yet (we didnt have semi finals last year) but we will write this so that there is a record of them.

Hey there AD!

Yeah, I was looking at the 2003 listing of nominees for the Viewers Choice, but that looks like a list of the final five videos in each catagory that made it to the finals. When I was nominating this year in the semi-finals, there seemed to be 20 or so videos in the list for each catagory, with us voting for up to five videos in each to advance into the finals round.

I was wondering if those longer lists, those 10 to 20 semi-finals nominees in each catagory, could be posted somewhere in the Viewers Choice section. All the contenders in the finals are great, there's no question there, but I would also like to see which of the hundreds of videos each year were 'merely' nominated for the semi-finals run-off. After all, opinions are different from person to person, and I belive many of those which didn't make the final cut, by majority vote, are still just as amazing as the winners. I'd really like to see the semi-finals posted in a lasting list, along with the final five in each catagory (as seems to be the case at the moment), and ultimatly the winners.

Actually, the whole semifinals is new for the VCA of 2005. There weren't any semifinal competition in the past VCAs.

Hah, and I bet neither of my videos are in there even though they were both semi-finalists. I would like this list too, actually, because I wasn't able to download any videos (and thus didn't nominate, and probably won't vote).
