quick banner size help...

Okay Im new and I started to make banners. I saved it as a jpg but it is still 56k. I don't know how to make it smaller. If anyone can help me that would be awesome, thanks again. :?

What image editing program are you using?

If you are using photoshop, there is a seperate function called, "save for web" use that.
