download blocked :(

Post by Zotto » Tue Jan 11, 2005 10:08 am

Hi I am new, i read the rules and looked around on this forum section to see if anyone else had my problem.

Looks like I am the only one in here so i am gonna explain what happens:

If i download ANY amv clicking on "Local" (or at least it happened to every amv i tried) the download starts in the right way but after a while the download gets blocked and i can see on the pop up always the same time remaining and the same mb downloaded without going any further. After a lot of time windows writes an error message where it's written that the time for that operation is over.

The download that starts is not fake because I was able to download a little amv (5 mb I guess) but if I try to download something bigger I get always this problem, it's just that after a while the site gets bored of me and stops my download.

I was unable to resolve the prolbem either with getright or flashget, because they download a little html file instead of the Amv.

I Had this problem also downloading the AmvApp in the guide, but thanks God there was the autoresume for that.

P.S.: I have the same problem even if I don't use "local" as download options

HELP ME! (sorry I hope that you can understand what I wrote, i am not english neither american neither from anouther country where the main language is English ;) )

i am sorry for the second reply but I couldn't find the edit button

anyway i read about the rule of 2 weeks member, but how could I download something even if I am not a 2 weeks member?

My fear is to have some problem by my own instead of something under your control

Please tell me that I am only pshycopatic and everything is just fine O_o

The two week thing has been lifted. The registration page just needs to reflect that...

Are you left clicking on the local download links or right clicking and selecting 'save as'? You should left click them otherwise you will just download an html file. Be sure not to use download accelerators also.

I dont think download problems are an issue. mabey its something to do with cache settings in internet explorer. Try using firefox from www.mozilla.org, Its a much beter browser than IE.

Of course i left kick
the download starts, I told ya that I was able to download a little amv, the problem is that after a while it stop, I see on the download box that the mb and time are stucked ad the same point, that's really weird.

I'll try to clean up my cache (if i rememeber where the option is), and if it still doesn't work i'll change my browser (even if i don't see which could be difference).

cache erased but the problem is still here :(

I don't know anything about windows settings. Everything goes except this site's downloads -

I wanna believe that is just a settings problem and not a connection problem

now i've gotta go, after I'll try FireFox.

Do you have any other things that could affect your connection or connection speed like maybe a background download manager (like EDonkey or Kazaa) or other people on your network? Shut it off ;)

Do you have the same problem with MSN?

winmx works, really slow due to my connection type but it goes.

I can't remember if anytime I tried to download I had a download manager opened, but I guess not.

Anyway I subscribed myself at this site on the 5th Of Jenuary.

2 weeks arn't passed yet Omg :?:

Quoting yourself...

Anyway if that even was an issue you shouldn't be able to download at all.

My best guess is that your connection resets every now and then. Try to fix it (router config, connection config) or maybe you can use a dl manager if you set the headers/referrers right (can some1 back me up on this one?)
