local download error

im trying to download a local video, and have been a member for about a year or so and had no problems. i formatted, then installed all the new window updates, Im running on IE6 SP2, and now when i try to download a video, i get the message "Warning: Supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /var/www/downloadlocal.php on line 41"

ive done searches through the site, and tried to enable the prompting for download, but that doesnt seem to work. i get to the point where its at the download page and then it jumps to a never ending page of that warning message. Ive downloaded some other programs from a secure site, and have had no problem, it only appears to be here. after testing several times, its only local links, indirect and direct are fine.

my other question is that when i do a search, find a video and download, and then hit back, i could go back to my original search, but that seems to have disappeared, does anyone know how to restore it so that it remembers my search?
