I'm having multiple problems not helped by the guides or FAQ

I can download the vid no prob but when I try to play it, it will only play in Quick Time, when the window opens it says something about missing data or something or other. Now it will open to real player but my recently downloaded vids have turned into "the first osuwari" from Inuyaha! How can I get the vids to play with out having to download other software and have them turn into sound clips?
Note: I have Windows ME with Windows Media Player, Real Player, and Quick Time.

Find the video in Windows Explorer, wherever you saved it.
Right-click it and select "Open With".
Select Windows Media Player if it's on the list; if it's not, click "Choose Program..." and <i>then</i> select WiMP.

See if it'll play then.
