Help redownloading videos

I lost all of the videos I've downloaded when my computer crashed. When I went to try and redownload the videos, as soon as I click in the link to redownload it asks if I want to save it, and I say yes. Then, it immediately claims that the video has been downloaded and placed in the folder I sleected on my computer. Well, when I go to click on it, instead of the AMV's name, it says "local download" and when I click on that, it pops up and says that this video cannot be understood by windows media player because of one reason or another.Is there anything I can do to get these videos back?
