Multi-Editor Project Forum
There are currently about a dozen multi-editor projects that are either going on or in the early stages. While threads regarding these usually end up in General AMV, sometimes they show up in AMV Announcements or Suggestions.
Think a new forum can be created for MEP discussion? It'd be for running project threads (roll calls, etc), discussion of multi-editor projects, and recruiting people for new MEPs.

Well, it would never be a huge forum that's true, but there would probably be more than enough to justify the space.
At this point there is no real good place to put threads. The one major project I have been in (Animasia) Had a couple of threads in the "Sugestions" forum of all places. I've seen projects threads in general too.
Secondly, Multi-editor AMV's are on the rise. The number of projects has been growing from a small set of well established projects (DDR) that newbies are afraid to attempt, to a wide variety of ideas and projects. I've seen less and less experienced editors proposing projects.
Not only would this forum serve as a home for project threads, it would be a place to toss out ideas, recruit new members and hold general discutions, questions about projects etc.
Also the forum could be used by people who just want to collaberate with one or two other people on a video. Plus general discusion on on how a project works and advice for new project leaders. Having a thread might convince some of the more invisible projects (project genius anyone?) to maintain a presence on the org.
Who knows, maybe I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it.

I'm just taking a guess here but it'd probably be more active than Operation: Golden Donut, heads up, or site suggestions (perhaps) forums which already exist.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:If someone can give me some idea of how many threads there could be (given the often closed nature of many projects) then I'll see.

I'd guess about the same. Even though TCP and Animix had their own Yahoo! group, we'd still go to the forums when we needed to find a replacement editor or to announce that new parts were available. I can currently find multi-editor project discussion in 3 or 4 forums right now, and aside from a couple threads in AMV Announcements, they all seem somewhat out of place.godix wrote:I'm just taking a guess here but it'd probably be more active than Operation: Golden Donut, heads up, or site suggestions (perhaps) forums which already exist.AbsoluteDestiny wrote:If someone can give me some idea of how many threads there could be (given the often closed nature of many projects) then I'll see.

Yes, thanks on that.
I wonder if this is a good time to talk about possible special hosting for projects? I know this has been brought up before, and there isn't currently a system for dealing with projects as a separate category, but perhaps it would be reasonable to think about >100mb hosting on a special permission/per-request basis for multieditor projects?

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…
