File Naming

Post by pen-pen2002 » Mon Sep 27, 2004 4:13 pm

In a recent thread in "General" about file naming conventions, someone mentioned that it would be possible for the server to assign a file name based on the database information.

Is this true? I do not profess to know much, well anything really, about database coding, but I think it bears some discution. From what I have heard, many people re-name every file in the "Save As" box when they download a video. The suggestion is to atomate that procces so that a user could if they so choose have a file name according to it's information. So every file on your HDD would look like: $anime - $song - $artist - $creator - $studio, or some such.

Is this too dificult/imposible/undesireable? What do you guys think?

Thanks Derobert!

maybe once it's finished I won't have files on my computer named EarthianFuelDivx.mpg  (maybe it's a double compression )
