AMV Panel Footage

Post by dokool » Sun Feb 15, 2004 4:24 pm

Although it's technically "live action", I think that it'd be a good idea if the Donut could provide hosting to "highlight reels" or even full versions of AMV panels. Not only are most panels informative to anyone starting out, but they're usually entertaining in their own right and are one of the most visible parts of the AMV community aside from contests themselves.

Thoughts on the matter?

Sounds like an okay idea to me, but I still think it would be best if those were hosted elsewhere. They are definitely related to AMVs, but they still aren't AMVs. And I do think that the server should be restricted to AMVs only. That might just be me though. :?

Try the conference-proven method I use on Animetheory - they're called proceedings. Text based information is much easier to download and printout, add video coverage and you might as well make a training video.

The traditional proceedings leaflet has this:
1. Abstract (what will we cover?)
2. Panelists (who 'da keynote?)
3. Text transcript (what was said)
4. Summary (conclusion in a nutshell)
5. Bibliography (credit to who)
and it is placed on the seats before the plenary lecture (at least at Nan Desu Kan et al)

As for the Org, just rip-rip-rip, mispel thayre namez (SIC), put it in a special section under guides and publish.

I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of drunken editors rambeling on......they should host it themselves though.

I don't care if it would be hosted on the donut as long as it is separate fom the catalog.

Panels are usually pretty boring affairs. Some drunken creators who havent had much sleep show their videos and occasionally talk about Believe and Tainted Donuts. There's better things to host on the org imo :)
