(Sorry if this has been discussed before but I've looked around and haven't noticed a solution.)
When I read threads in the forums the screen widens itself about an inch so that I have to scroll back & forth horizontally to see the right edge of the text in the posts. It's like it's auto-detecting how wide my browser window is but not quite doing it perfectly. Maybe it's forgetting that the avatars in the left margin take up horizontal width....
The indexes seem to size themselves correctly so that no horizontal scrolling is necessary, so I'm not sure what phpBB is doing differently when it enters a topic to read posts.
I'm using MS Win95 & MS IE 5.5, with an 800x600 screen resolution.

Hey,
The problem is an issue with Internet Explorer. IE likes to pad the right site of wide images (sig images) for some reason. No other browser that I have seen does this. Try using Mozilla Firebird. Pages will load faster and appear nicer.

It's very nice, fast, and free. Good luck and have fun!! ^_^

Gee, an IE bug... somehow I'm not really earthshakingly surprised to hear it.
I think I'll have to give Mozilla a try, since my current computer monitor tends to give me eyestrain if I run it at 1024x768.
Thanks very much for the help!
