Just noticed this in AD and Ermac's guide...

Second Pass
How big is your file? Right-click your file, choose 'properties' have a look and see how many bytes it is. Copy that number and get a calculator (or open up calc in windows) and do this calculation:

(your file size in bytes * 0.7) / 1024

[your file size in bytes times 0.7 divided by 1024]

This is how big the video part of your amv should be and be almost always certain to look very good.

Now..am I reading this wrong..or does it not tell you how big the video part should be so that you can compare it to see if it's too big or too small? If that is the case..what would it be so that I can compare?
Also..if this has already been mentioned..forgive me for pointing it out agian..but I couldn't find a thread for it unless I just didn't go back far enough. :?

When it says "this is how big the video part of your amv should be" it means "this is how big the video part of your amv should be after the 2nd pass - this is the size you should aim for"

Does that make it clearer?

This whole section of the guide is being rewritten so it should hopefully be easier in the future.

A little clearer..yes..thanks AD. Actually..this is the first time I've even used the guides like this.. but I can see I should have been doing it all along as the final version of my video came out about 1/2 the size of the others I'd done..and was still a very nice (if not better) quaility.
