Time-limited Edit button?

I don't know if phpBB boards can implement this, but I've seen it on Anime Boston's forum. They have an Edit button, but after a certain period of time (no more than a few minutes to an hour, I think), you're not allowed to make changes. Could be a good way to include an edit button but limit the amount it gets used...

Yeah, the one on demonseal lets you edit it for a few minutes after, but then after the window is past if you edit any further it shows at the bottom of your post how many times/the time you edited it.

Though it can still be used abusively, like the time I changed a spelling error after flint so eloquently pointed it...

The AB forum just doesn't let you edit after the window, which I think is perfect for catching a typo or two...

Yeah, the trick is not making the window to large.

there is not edit button!! omg!!

i think the point was brought up more than enough times when ppl requested/suggested the feature be turned on

the idea is duable, but i don't think Phade in his wisdom would agree or allow it
