why cant i get images to fit the file size requirements?

Post by nemesis310 » Thu Oct 09, 2003 9:12 am

with my avatar, no matter how small i make it, its ALWAYS more than the 6kb limit! tight now i use a picture that is actually a desktop icon but i want somemething better! and also ive tried making a couple banner ads and even with the image the right number of pixels its like 10 times the 12kb limit! why cant i make the files small enough?!

Is your image a JPEG type? If it is, try converting it into a GIF type. That's what I had to do to my avatar in order to fit the size requirements. The image may look crappy, but that's the best I can do.

if your avatar is the right pixel dimensions then you could also get remote hosting for it. But jpegs are really sucky for avatars, exspecialy if you wnat to write soemthing on them, it always appears all blurry.
