Mozilla local DL problems

I just switched to Mozilla, and when trying to download Local videos, I can only download two at a time. Are there some kind of properties that I can set, or are the beyond forces shunning my computer?

There are a couple of Mozilla settings that affect this. In recent versions of Mozilla (1.3? 1.4?) you can visit about:config and right-click them to change them. In earlier versions, you had to edit user_prefs.js by hand; instructions are/were on mozilla.org. In particular

network.http.max-connections-per-server
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server

However, what does this gain you? Doesn't Mozilla queue additional downloads (or do you have download manager turned off)? And it's not like they'll go any faster. Sounds like you'll just manage to put additional load on the download server.
