Stop asking the moderators to fix your typos, you idiots.

Post by jbone » Wed Jun 18, 2003 8:47 am

Is it just me, or has the "moderator drop box" turned into a place wher epeople ask nothing but "PLEASE DELETE MY POST PLEASE FIX MY TYPO PLEASE MOVE MY POST PLEASE REMOVE MY RESPONSE PLEASE CHANGE THINS FOR ME" ?

C'mon, people, the moderators have better things to do than waste time fixing your inconsequential screw-ups. It doesn't matter if you misspelled a character's name in a subject line, for sporksakes.

Something should be done to discouraging people from abusing the moderator drop box - if nothing else, I hope the moderators aren't wasting their time fixing these things.

Ahh, but he didn't ask a mod to fix it...

Or did he...?

Everyone is not the same as you.
Get over it.
And lighten up.

I agree, the mods have better things to do. So I think we should be able to edit our posts.

Having spelling errors isn't that big enough of a problem to have post editing. Mostly because the site admin has a pretty good reason for not allowing it. If the errors in your post are severe enough for people to notice it on regular basis...well that is more your problem than anyone else. Preview the message...

I think spelling "intelligent" wrong is a far more serious problem.

Nah but really, I am getting sick of those posts. Who the hell cares if you spell something wrong? If you're worried about your image, then think your post through. If you spell things wrong, that's your problem. Not the mods'.

What IS the reason behind not having an edit button anyway? I've been living under a rock, so I have never found out why.

People would edit things. Editting posts leads people to change things they said.

Like if I said:

I LOVE KTHULHU!!!! *HEART*

In a fit of rage...I could go back and change it to something more appropriate to myself...like:

I HATE KTHULHU!!!! *ANGER*

But why would I want to to do that?

that's a misconception thought of by stupid people.
The reason there's no edit button is because it would void the invisomod system. This made more sense when they modded posts a lot, because their only form of modding was by editing posts. If there was an edit button, the modding could easily be changed or deleted.
That's the truth, I know, I'm a mod.
