Posting Partially Complete Videos...

Post by mwalker » Tue Feb 04, 2003 10:23 pm

Is it considered 'OK' to post partially complete videos, so that people can see what you're working on, or is that a big No-No?

Maybe I'm out of the loop here, but I can't decipher what you might mean by 'GD'. Care to clue me in?

In the database, the videos you post should be ones that have either been completed or something that you are currently working on, so something not yet complete but has at least begun the editing process is good to post.

There is nothing wrong of course but I think you should keep your working on vids in your profile only until you have them 100% done. There is no end to the problems that can happen...HD crashes, school, or you could even develop a healthy social life and then all amv making goes on the back burner  leaving an incorrect listing in the catalog.

I am almost finished with my 80's vid. But it won't even go up until the final 3 copies are fully rendered (mpeg2, avi, and mpg) because you can't remove a video listing as easily as you can submit one.

I have the entry for the video posted. I was referring to a /link/ to the partially complete video file itself.

Actually, as long as you don't mark the video entry with a 'Premiered' date, it's dead easy to change information.

Nah, I mean if you list something you later need removed (i.e. the video doesn't exist) you can't remove it from the database yourself. Ya gotta bug Phade.
