I don't think custom code is needed: mods can already be limited to operate in a given domain with phpBB.

Or maybe I'm confusing vBulletin and phpBB. Can't remember right now.

However, the stupidity and blatant lack of comprehension that some of the replies in this thread -- while unrelated to the subject of restricted moderator power -- make me wonder if it'd be best to just let these people stew in their own insignificant anger and let things be as they are.

Sounds like a plan. They should be tender and edible in a few months time.

Never.

It's a well known fact that if anything ever goes wrong the guys in charge are to blame.

Heck, there isn't anyone I'd trust either.

Personally I feel that the REAL problem with General Anime is that the mods dont frequent it enough and there isn't anyone who I'd say was a real General Anime regular who I trust with having full mod power right now.

maybe this has been answered but why dont you just give a few people modding privileges for that particular Forum only? Mini mods are possible, i have a phpbb forum too, DeltaAnime.com and while currently i dont have any, mini mods are possible. Although, i dont believe thats what i'd call them

Not with the way the entire site is currently programmed. This effects the whole site not just the forum.

It is not possible to have mods with limited powers at present.

AD - you can manage to give people moderation powers without making them agents.

The bigger issue is that we need to get phpBB to give us admins an easy way to keep an eye out for moderation abuses. Pretty much, we'd like something like a moderation log.

PS: For everyone else, being an Agent isn't actually that special. It's not something you actually want to be. It just means you have to do more work, like dealing with the anime list :-(

Why do the mods have to be so gut wrenchingly stupid? No, like, REALLY:

You can't post links to anime clips?! Um, fucking hello...http://www.animemusicvideos.org
