There is an unmoderated chat, it's called the aim chat room. We have links to it and it comes with a warning that it's unmoderated. People can go there if they like. I get emails sometimes complaining about abuse that has happened there and I tell people it's not our problem, the chat has a warning and if they want a moderated chat then they should use IRC.

So, given that there is both a moderated and an unmoderated chat, what's the problem?

Yeah, I sometimes do things I'm not supposed to as an op, but I just make sure I'm within the rules and not breaking any of them. When the time comes for the channel to be moderated, I lay down the law and try to fix the problem, if that doesn't work, then there's certain procedures we follow. It's supposed to be a fun chat, but I think what scares some people away is the fact it's moderated and fear they'd get banned if they asked the wrong question. The IRC chat is also the only one of the two that people actually talk about AMVs as well.

No, Brsrk, people do talk about AMVs in the AIM chat too. Not that often, but it happens. Most of the times when someone tries to talk about AMVs, one of the "oldies" has to jump in and complain about something.

Yep. Nearly every time I go into the chat, people are teaming up on "noobs." Sometimes it's warranted, but not usually. I don't see what the point of another unmoderated chat would be, because the same thing will happen there.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.
