If we knew who the mods were, we could say 'hey, why wasnt I CHOSEN' and we could bitch at them and send them death threats and hack their comps and such SO phade decided itd be best to keep mods hidden. Thus, there is no edit button. Thats right, the need for inviso-mods is the reason there is no editing posts. Obviously, because if a mod mods your post you could simply edit that away and such.

Damn, being a mod looks like fun...especially if it means you get to talk to yourself like jmod, er, jbone.

My guess would be that a lot of the mods are probably low post-count "n00bs" who don't hang out here much, and can thus be objective about what's appropriate and what's not.
