It's definitely something under consideration.

For larger projects an org torrent might be set up, but it will need thinking out and some math will have to be done on viability and so on.

I think official .org torrents for large projects could be a great idea. The main reason that the torrents for large projects like NES Project have failed, IMO, was that they aren't really visible to the majority to the site, but rather only to those that read the forums. If there could be a section made just for large projects with torrents, i'm sure that could draw a crowd large enough to keep them going indefinately. Since they are torrents, they could also be provided without the 2 week waiting period, so those members would have plenty to be able to download without complaining

I don't see the large files eating up THAT much more bandwidth.

Say a 60min video was alotted 700mb, there's roughly 30-45 'Normal' videos uploaded each day, ranging from 15-50mb, a 'long' video wouldn't be very common, they'd probabbly only show up, what? Once every three months, if even?

It's not like long videos are very common, it shouldn't have much effect on the donut at all. It's not like it will unleash a flood of 50min DBZ videos...

Well, except the fact that project videos are much more popular than regular videos.

Animix is one of the most downloaded videos on the org, mainly because you have lots of anime and lots of creators which means it gets lots of hits and ergo lots of downloads.

Project videos are more than the sum of their parts.
