Wow, that's a horrible idea. That will just involve people acting all nice and shit, some people would resort to passive aggressiveness and other subtle ways to be assholes so they could easily defend themselves.mckeed wrote:well....i see this as only a negative karma system.
I say, if we have a karma system, it should only be positive. People should only be rewarded for doing good things, let the assholes sit in the asshole corner.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

I don't quite understand. You can affect your own karma score by not being stupid. How is it not fair.....you break social ediquite....you get a minor warming......a little more post delay.....you never act stupid...it never affects you. You affect your own karma by not being stupid and it will return to normal where everyone elses is.

Its better than people just openly swearing at people and flaming people for really retarded stuff.flint_the_dwarf wrote:Wow, that's a horrible idea. well....i saw it three times in one day. I'm sure it happens a few times a week. It shouldn't happen at all is my point. I guess if I had piles time i could search for examples, but the fact is it does happen. Your sig isa great example of what this forum has degraded to. "a-m-v.org....where no one cares"

I don't really see why we need this...
How about this instead. The mods are nice people and I don't think they do a whole lot of enforcing the rules unless its really bad. So how about we get a "forum enforcer". This will be a large man named Bubba, and if you do something stupid on the forums, he will personally come over to your house and ass-rape you. I think this would fix things very fast.

We already have a karma system on here, it's called an opinion. I've already made up my mind about various frequent posters and dumping karma, good or bad, on them isn't going to make me suddenly think an asshole is an angel or vice versa. If all the readers here agree someone is an asshole/great guy then there's no reason to go to the bother of labeling him as such, we already know that, the label isn't informative in the slightest. If all the readers don't agree that he's an asshole/great guy then that means the ops are defining people long before people have a chance to define themselves. Sites with karma almost invariably end up as a slashdot like karma whoring contest anyway and god knows the last thing the internet needs is another slashdot karma whore. Stick with the current system, the ops take care of any dick that goes too far across the line and that's all that's needed.
