that's just the point that I've been looking for an answer too, why have Avril Lavigne or Jessica Simpson or even Vienna Teng, one of SNH or DWChang's lates heart tugs put to images MEANT to make you yearn for something better NOT rebelious. Anime = Teenage, Teenage = Rebelious, take your choice. Anime Music Videos sounds like Teenage Rebelious Videos too me and the results tend to agree.aielI_Ileia wrote:I'm pretty sure this is animemusicvideos.org not teenagerebelliousattitudeforums.org. Sorry.
Thankyou for trying to provide an answer here though, instead of just another flame to add to my collection.
The only question left is, what use is the forums, well OBVIOUSLY the forums are made for discussion. As you can see rareley can you discuss AMVs without discussing teenage rebelion, but without an ot section we can't even discuss that.
By my outcome it seems to me that that answer leads only to the abolishment of the forums all together, but we ALL know that is not the best sollution and this is why. Any other ideas, mine is that the mods guidelines get a little less strict on what IS and what IS NOT AMV.

You're thinking about it too much. Regardless of what you think AMV means in some obscure sense, all it is anime put to music. Anime isn't necessarily just for teens, and teenagers aren't all about rebellion. There's more to both of them.
Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

You're assering a need of the community...extrapolated from you. I don't care what your personal life philosophy is, but any fool can see that one data point is a bad sample.

Flint's right.
(Thankful for preview)
And what about comedies, romance and all the other genres that really have nothing to do with teens or rebellion in the first case?

Well, no offense (I'm sure you're thinking very hard), but you aren't think very broadly. You're restricting a very simple, broad term. You said this site encourages teenage rebellion. Nowhere on this site does it tell anyone what kind of videos to make, with what sources, or with what music. And there are plenty of videos that are not angsty. It just so happens that a large percentage of the members are indeed teenagers, and very often when teenagers try any form of expression, it comes out in the form of angst because it's something they often try to keep confined in their day-to-day dealings.Knowname wrote:of coarse there is and there's more to tires than rubber. I'm not stereotypeing, I'm defining. I like to think, thinking is what I do.... in this s/n
But teenagers is not all of this site. It is only part of this site. Even disregarding that, the point is that this site doesn't encourage or discourage anything about the content of AMVs. It restricts a few things like sexual nudity and excess violence, but people can still make those videos.

in English please?? I know that I'm spurting out knee deep in philosophy and words I can hardly define myself, but are you saying that Otohiko did NOT just say that one of the biggest draws to a-m-v.org is the community? Are you saying I'm the only one that feels that way??trythil wrote:This is terrible logic.Knowname wrote: Thankyou for trying to provide an answer here though, instead of just another flame to add to my collection.

what about them?? take the tire concept, when defining something one doesn't look at what makes 100% up of it. The majority of videos (and even some of the others) are angst driven. And again, maturity has little to do with it, my own videos, I'm 24, are angst driven. And what about comedies, romance and all the other genres that really have nothing to do with teens or rebellion in the first case?
I'll repeat this, 'make music videos' or 'make GOOD ANIME music videos'. The very GUIDES tell us what to do. No, it doesn't go into specific sorces but (and I was afraid somebody would say I'm being too much like a '50s old person) music IS (in most cases) rebelion. And what about comedies, romance and all the other genres that really have nothing to do with teens or rebellion in the first case?
