Ok I overlooked those sections on winamp and overclockers, but I hold that doom9 and oc remix's general discussion sections do not count as off topic. Why? Because they are general discussion for the topics that the website is based upon, NOT general discussion about what you just ate for dinner.

Not quite. P is a subset of A, but you're trying to extend the definition of P too far. Convention discussion on this forum has been limited to topics directly related to anime music video events at conventions or discussing room and ride for AMV editors / site members to conventions, and has never included discussions on cosplay.
