Why? Because they are general discussion for the topics that the website is based upon, NOT general discussion about what you just ate for dinner.
So thats 4.I could find more but I'm too lazy.

Domine, solve mi hunc syllogismum.
X (anime discussion) is included in aforesaid A.trythil wrote:Let A be the set of all anime music video-related topics.
Let B be the set of all cosplay-related topics.
| A intersect B | = very small.
Y (specific episode discussion) is a subset of X.
Y is on-topic. Indeed, Y has its own forum.
Therefore we can assert: Subsets of what are included in A are on-topic subjects.
P (conventions) is included in A, since there is a Conventions forum.
B, cosplay, is a subset of P.
Therefore cosplay is a subset of what is included in A.
Cosplay is *off-topic*
Reductio ad absurdum.

Extreme self-reference paradox!Corran Productions wrote:Aren't we conforming to the non-conformist party by doing that though?

Not quite. P is a subset of A, but you're trying to extend the definition of P too far. Convention discussion on this forum has been limited to topics directly related to anime music video events at conventions or discussing room and ride for AMV editors / site members to conventions, and has never included discussions on cosplay.P (conventions) is included in A, since there is a Conventions forum.
B, cosplay, is a subset of P.
Therefore cosplay is a subset of what is included in A.
Cosplay is *off-topic*
Reductio ad absurdum. Even more so, since B can also be regarded as being part of X, even without the conventions aspect. Subsets or derivatives of P are permissible in any event since there is not only a Conventions forum, but Conventions Exchange.
