well... hehe... i can speak english, french, and a lil spanish... i can swear in Japanese.. but that's about it...

There's another "n" before the "ni", and the glide is a "chi", not a "cho". It's also supposed to be "ha" instead of "wa", but I don't really think anyone really cares about that since it's pronounced "konnichi wa". (Somebody who knows more than me can verify or refute this...)

Anyway, the correct spelling would be

konnichi ha; こんいちは (in hiragana); 今日は (in kanji)

just some corrections (heh, and I probably messed up some facts as well...eh it happens)

well i was taught "Konnichi wa", although it mightve been for ease of use...i had a fair few people in my class who didnt even want to learn.

It's pronounced "konnichi wa", but if you strictly romanize the kana, it should be "konnichi ha". My Japanese textbook doesn't romanize much of anything, so I can't really use that as a basis, but I don't think anyone really cares so long as your romanization is close.

By the way, "chi" isn't a glide, but "cho" is

How do you type in japanese? Do you need a whole new keyboard? I speak english and I've had (almost) two years of Spanish. I'm gonna take Japanese in college. Whoohoo!!! I won't need subtitles to watch Naruto.

Now I feel rather inferior. I can only speak two languages, English is my second language that I learned as an adult and American is what I learned whilegrowing up.
