If space ever becomes a serious issue, perhaps the least downloaded videos could be removed from the server, as long as they have been available for a reasonable length of time (like a year). Since they are the least downloaded vids, the creator isn't really losing much, cause no ones watching them anyways.

So the Org no longer is an archiving sort of system, but a distributor...i hope Quu's doing well with his archive project, haven't heard much about it lately.Zarxrax wrote:If space ever becomes a serious issue, perhaps the least downloaded videos could be removed from the server, as long as they have been available for a reasonable length of time (like a year). I think the current plan is that before space becomes a serious issue, we add more hard disk space. We still have over 660GB free.Zarxrax wrote:If space ever becomes a serious issue, perhaps the least downloaded videos could be removed from the server,

Does it seriously work this way? I've tried couple of times, then my posts were removed from the moderator drop box and the vids still there.kthulhu wrote:An abuse drop box? Just drop it into the moderator drop box and let them move it up to Phade.
Hey, just like a corporation!
But anyway... I couldn't care less if the video is removed or not: 99% of the people who abuse of the donut don't even know that they are actually abusing (because they don't read the rules): what's the point of deleting the video if they don't understand why?

I just considered that the bigger the site grows, the harder for the administrators/mods to track every problem down.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I like this idea. I kind of hate having to mail Phade when there is a major abuse and would like a system like this. Sadly, I've already mailed him about a number of abuses and it makes me feel like the video police
. Then again, we did pay good money and people should follow the rules.

That would be a great way to bury Phade in complaints, methinks. If you're noticing people not reading and following the rules for uploading videos, then expecting a supserset of those people to read and follow the rules for "Report this Video" is, well, silly.Janzki wrote:A "Report this video" button on the video description pages was also suggested some tíme ago...
