Different with mac?

hello. uh..i'm very "newbish" with animemusicvideo.org. i was given a very helpful tutorial (idiot proof) to help me step by step on uploading my amv's.

because i have a mac, i had to improvise for some things. the tutorial got me all the way to the FTP login part. i got the transmit thing that the site suggested for macs, but it keeps saying "connection denied"
i don't know if im forgetting something because i got the login info like the ftp server and the password and such. but it still won't let me in.
and if this counts for anything, i'm quite new at macs. i literally just got it a week ago. (stupidity?)
and my amvs i want to upload are .wmv files which can't play on macs but i don't think that makes a difference on whether i upload it or not, because it's still a wmv file right?
please help.

Use the Terminal and the ftp command-line utility. It should work just fine.
