Direct Link: Server not found

Post by Spectral_Spiral » Thu Jan 11, 2007 10:37 pm

I've been trying to add a direct link for my video but I keep getting a server not found message. At first I thought the spaces in the filename were at fault but I removed them and it still can't be linked. The URL works:
http://jackmars.ifastnet.com/HyattOnArr ... uality.avi

I've checked the FAQ, searched the forum and the first few posts in Site Help to make sure it wasn't a recent server problem. The only thing I can think of is that there is a problem with a-m-v.org's DNS server. Is there a way to add a direct link without checking if this problem can't be solved?

I'm trying the URL now, and Opera gives me its "Could not connect to remote server" message...

I checked the site and now it won't resolve, though the site cpanel seems to work fine. It was working yesterday, I download the video to make sure... I guess my quest for webspace continues. I was going to upload the video to a-m-v.org but I'm worried about the level of violence, as silly as it is in Excel Saga.

i was able to download the video from rightclicking and saving it as off of the forums, the "gore" didnt seem too bad to me, i believe that the site rules state "no intrails" or something... thats just alot of blood.... (and the concept was pretty funny too)

if you are that worried run it by the site mods/admins and get one of their opinions

Thanks Dax, I would run it by the admins but they probably can't download it :/
I took my notebook pc across town and could access my site again, seems to be a strange dns resolution problem on ifastnet's end. I think I'll put it up on my college account until I work this out.
