Original Animation and the like

Post by Keeper of Hellfire » Thu Sep 21, 2006 2:30 am

Since there was lately a thread regarding original animation: if the Site Definition of Anime and AMV is still valid, original animation and the like isn't considered anime. Then why shows the database original animation, orignal 3D animation, original drawings and original photography as confirmed anime? It should be made consistent, either the database has to be corrected or the definition has to be changed.

The definition apparently has a "we can include anything we want on a case by case basis" clause. I've barked up this tree before and got shot down. Clearly, logical reasoning does not apply.

This is a site for music videos made with cartoons.

You want logic? Go elsewhere =3

pishaw! you always need logic... or the nand gates stop working and the universe collapses in on itself.

What we don't need is the pretence that breaking the rules is going to get you banned, and that guidelines are made for both user and moderator/admin alike.

This isn't a reference to a certain 4-man production group from the Yukon Territory that was big in 2003, is it? When since then have we had an issue like that?

Just that it seems that stated rules are changed because nobody wants to bring down the ban-hammer or tell someone who spent all the effort creating an origional animation that it doesn't fall under the rules. What I was suggesting is the mods/admins are under a sort of conduct code where if a rule is broken they must do something about it. Choosing not to is kinda like breaking the trust anyone should have in the system to work correctly.

I honestly don't care if there's total BS going on, just as long as everyone's honest about it and it's clearly stated. Transparent despotism > backroom democracy.

people seem to forget that there are a ton of anime listings and a lot were confirmed way before any definitions were even considered... One day a full cleanup will be done to the criteria as described
