I recently received an opinion that was clearly quite favorable. It wasn't anything spectacular and it didn't have any constructive criticism, but it was clear that he liked the video:
Fair enough. Here's the problem: the ratings were all 2s, 3s, and 4s, which clearly doesn't reflect somebody who thought my video should have won at ACen (that Saikano vid was at least a 7I wasn't able to attend the full showing of AMVs at ACen, but I found this after-the-fact. It is beautiful, and easily better than most of the videos that actually won in their categories (though I can see how it was a tough call between this and the Saikano vid that did win drama). Excellent work, looking forward to seeing more.
I already responded as follows:
Since he didn't list his e-mail address, I PM'd him restating these comments. This was a week ago. I sincerely believe that the reviewer was simply a newbie that didn't understand the rating system (it looks like this was his first opinion ever), but I don't want my video's average to be dragged down by such a low score (especially since it only has 3 ops at the moment). I also don't want to petition to have the opinion removed, since he's not flaming me or anything.I had no beef about the Saikano video winning, but there were a few categories (namely Comedy and Upbeat) where I strongly disagreed with the winners. Thank you for the comments, and the op. I'm glad you liked it, but did you mean to put the rankings so low? Opinion rankings are out of ten, with 10 being highest.
Basically what I'm asking is- is there anything else I can do, and what would you recommend here?
