Downloads are stopping

Hi!

Some things beforehands: I've read the FAQ and browsed this section of the forum but did not find a solution for my problem, if I missed something I am very sorry

I have downloaded a couple of AMVs a year ago, it worked back then. But Now i stumbled again over this site and found quite a few AMVs i really would like to watch.
But all files I try to download (local ones mostly) stop loading at some random point. I tried ten different ones and I get the same problem, the percentage stops growing and stasy at for example 39% or 72%, I hope you get the point of what I mean (no native speaker, you know ^^).

I am using firefox and no additionnal download manager.

I had the same exact issue last year, It was some problem with my ISP. The only remedy that actually worked was changing that ISP (Actually paying for a cable connection instead of relying on my university's connection), but that's not a real option for many people. I had a few people suggesting using a download resuming program like flashget. It didn't work that well for me, but it may solve your problem.

You may also want to look into the settings of your firewall. I just fixed exactly the same kind of problem by updating my firewall program to the latest version.
