Wierd uploading error

Post by Hieisgrl4321 » Mon Nov 28, 2005 6:34 pm

OK, here I go.

I have NO idea what's going on. It's so wierd! :x I've entered my video information, done the whole FTP thing (using Cute FTP), but when I go to the 'Confirm Upload' page and click on the link so I can check my vid and make sure it's not broken, there's no link! I'm not getting any messages that say 'error' or 'screwy' either. Everything looks like it should have gone perfectly. :x I already uploaded one video (The Naruto Girls: Stripped) and that went smoothly; no problems or glitches in the system at all. But now that I've tried to upload my second and third video (separately, of course) it doesn't work, and I've tried several times.

Also, in case this has anything to do with anything, I'm using the trial version of Cute FTP, but I have fifteen days left.

What should I do :?: Somebody help before I go psycho on this computer!

doesn't sound like it's a problem with your ftp program.
It might be your web browser (security settings), or you might have uploaded a shortcut (or something other than your amv)

It would help if you posted the message that you see in the confirm upload page (and/or a screenshot)

Here's what the confirm upload page says:

Confirm Upload: Introduction
Please pay careful attention to the questions asked; if you mistakenly confirm a video you will need to get site administration to remove it. We'd much rather be working on bringing you new features, bugfixes, etc. than fixing broken uploads.

Below is information about the video you are uploading. Please complete the File Size: blank (in bytes) to proceed. Help is available on finding the size on Windows and finding the size on Mac OS X.

Video Name: It's time for me to stop the fighting.

File Name: Dirrty- Lee vs Gaara_0001.wmv
File Size:

And here's the Video information page that pops up when I click on the title:

Comments:

This vid took me two days and I'm super proud of it. They're are a few things in there that could do with some cleaning up, but overall it's a good video.

This vid is about Gaara and Lee's fight during the chuunin exams. It's not really in order or anything (I've got parts at the end of the fight mixed in with parts at the beginning, and vice versa), but whatever. I had a lot of fun with this video. It was made on Windows Movie Maker, blah blah, insert technical stuff here.

Ok, I'm done. Enjoy the movie!

That's just the text, but otherwise the website looks exactly as it should. As you can see on the vid information page, there's no local upload link. I've tried this again and again and again, but every single time there's no link! Do you know what went wrong?

Also, thanks for offering your help! I really appreciate it!

Weird that it doesn't have a file size.... Anyway, there should be a button saying continue or somesuch at the bottom; is there?

There is. Sorry, I guess I forgot to put it on there. Also, the file size is about 69 MB; I just hadn't typed it in yet.

Anyway, I'm afraid that if I click continue either my file will be broken or my vid just plain won't be downloaded. Do you think that will happen?

you shouldn't worry too much, since you sucessfully uploaded the amv.
but in the case it does happen I think you just request that the attempt be deleted, and start over again. (vid info and uploading, but it may just be re-uploading)

Ok. I'll try that and see what happens, then post the results on here.
