Piracy requests

Post by DeinReich » Tue Nov 22, 2005 8:40 pm

I think we need to make a bit more clear that we will not give anyone links to illegally downloadable songs/videos. Just saying it in the rules isn't enough, since no one reads them. I think there should be a sticks in the General Music and General Video forums stating this, with a topic like "DO NOT ASK FOR ILLEGAL CONTENT" or something like that. Just my 2 cents.

Because seeing something that says "DONT ASK FOR ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS" directly on the page (in the topic name) will get the message across a lot easier.

Don't the rules state that anyone asking for these things will be banned without warning?

Then why have I seen people able to appologize in the forum later on for asking?

If the mods don't enforce the rules all the time, the system looses it's credibility and we end up having more people asking.

Yeah. Dropping the apostrophe gives it that street cred that you need.

Because the mods cannot lay down bans. That requires an admin.

I don't think those people really care much if they're banned. I mean most of them come on, create an account, ask where to download stuff, get flamed, then we never see them again.
