bday greeting

I got this on another forum. It would be cool to have a birthday card pop-up (for the specific person) or pm that comes on whenever its someones bday. I know it may seem small and meaningless, but little aditions like that make the board that bit more coumfy.

everyday is a birthday for over 1000 members on the site on average...

371,068 members and 365 days a year... that's an average of almost 1017 birthdays per day (provided everyone includes their birthday in their profile info). I think that would be a little messy. Even if only ten percent of people included their birthday, it'd still be messy.

How about a birthday icon? Not that I'd be willing to disclose such personal information as my age, but for those who want to compromise their privacy.

It could work. I think it's kinda unneccesary though.

I think there's profile and journals serving purpose for that. I don't exactly want strangers to know about my birthday, and anyone who would place any value on a greeting for my birthday would probably have bothered read my profile or something

No what I meant is something that just pops up specificaly for the member in question, not every single member.
