What will happen if

Post by dnk » Mon Jul 18, 2005 2:16 pm

This might be a stupid question but I was wondering if I delete one of my videos off my computer that I uploaded to the site LOCAL will it still be on the site. The reason I ask is I'm short on space on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreiated

First, your sig is too large, and you might want to consider downsizing it before one of the mods does it for you.

Second, there is no mystical connection between your harddrive and the drives in the colo center that the .org servers reside at. Delete away, you'll be able to get your video back later. Until recently I was always extremely tight for drivespace, and made a regular habit of burning stuff off to CD, which I still do with DVDs whenever I have enough crap to fill one up. That's what removable media's for, getting stuff off your HD that you don't need but may want later.

Deleting the video from your computer won't remove it from local. However, I'd strongly suggest keeping your own copy. Burn it to CD, for example.
